On-demand boat marketplace

Boats nearby,
from shore to horizon.

Marea connects passengers with boat service providers in real time. Find eligible boats on a live map, request and track a booking, message the skipper, and rate the trip afterward — one account across iOS, Android, web, and desktop.

What it does

Everything a trip on the water needs, in one app

A focused, honest toolset for finding boats and coordinating trips — built on the Rolutec mapping stack, with your data and safety controls kept front and center.

Live discovery map

See verified, currently-online providers with active vessels on a real-time map. Results refresh as you move the camera, using the shared Rolutec renderer over authenticated basemap tiles.

Bookings & trip tracking

Request a boat, watch the booking move through its states, and track your trip. Booking state is owned by the server, so both sides always see the same source of truth.

Booking-scoped messaging

Message the other party directly, scoped to a specific booking so conversations stay tied to the trip they belong to — no open-ended contact details exchanged.

Durable notification inbox

A persistent in-app inbox for both roles with all/unread filters, unread badges, pull-to-refresh, cursor pagination, and mark-read — the authoritative record even when push isn't delivered.

Provider vessel profile

Providers publish a boat profile — type, length, seats, price, and amenities — then choose exactly when to go online and appear in passenger discovery.

Private trip ratings

Rate completed trips once they're done. Ratings are private to the review flow, keeping feedback honest without turning into a public reputation game.

Safety & support controls

Booking-linked reports, private blocks, and user-visible support-case status, backed by an audited administrator review boundary. Reports never auto-penalize an account.

Accounts done right

Email/password plus platform-approved Google and Apple sign-in, email verification, neutral single-use recovery, and secure session restoration — the same account on every device.

Your data stays yours

Versioned, server-recorded terms, privacy-notice, and safety acceptance, with a clear path to export your data and delete your account. Privacy controls aren't an afterthought.

How it works

Two sides of the same trip

Marea is a marketplace: passengers discover and book, providers publish and respond. Both roles share one app and one honest source of truth.

For passengers

Find a boat and go

From "where are the boats?" to a confirmed, tracked trip.

  1. 1Open the mapShare your location and see verified, online providers with active vessels nearby.
  2. 2Request a bookingPick a boat, review its profile, and send a booking request the provider can accept.
  3. 3Coordinate & trackExchange booking-scoped messages and follow your trip through its states.
  4. 4Rate the tripOnce the trip completes, leave a private rating to close the loop.
For providers

Publish and go online

Control when you're visible and respond to requests on your terms.

  1. 1Set up your vesselCreate a boat profile with type, length, seats, price, and amenities.
  2. 2Go online when readyYou start offline. Going online publishes your location once and refreshes each minute in the foreground.
  3. 3Respond to requestsBooking requests land in your inbox; accept and coordinate over booking-scoped messages.
  4. 4Go offline anytimeLeave the foreground or flip offline and you stop being published — you're always in control.

Passenger discovery returns only verified, online providers with active vessels and server locations no older than three minutes. Providers publish location only in the foreground while online; background location tracking is not implemented.

Where Marea is today

A working prototype — and honest about it

Marea is built for controlled testing. The interactive experience is real and end-to-end, but some marketplace machinery is deliberately not live yet. Here's exactly where the line is.

Live in the prototype

  • Account sign-up, verification, recovery & role selection
  • Live nearby-provider discovery on the map
  • Server-owned booking requests & trip tracking
  • Provider booking inbox & online-status controls
  • Booking-scoped direct messages
  • Private completed-trip ratings
  • Durable notification inbox for both roles
  • Reports, blocks & support-case status

Not available yet

  • Payments, refunds & money movement of any kind
  • Automated identity checks & document verification
  • Production maritime operations & provider approval
  • Background location tracking
  • Distance-triggered notifications

Marea is not an emergency service. In an emergency, contact your local emergency number or maritime rescue authority.

Provider and vessel verification, cancellation/refund/weather/emergency behavior, and personal-data retention remain prototype workflows pending legal, maritime, insurer, payment-provider, and operations review. Nothing here is a claim about production readiness.

Ready to try it
